Winamp Skins

Downloading the Skins

The skin category menu is on the right-hand side of the page. Pick a category to see and download skins for that subject.

All skins on the site are in either .wsz (Winamp Skin Zip - for Classic skins) or .wal (Winamp Abstraction Layer - for Modern skins) format. When you click on a Download link, a prompt should pop up asking if you want to open or save the file. Select "save," and save it in Winamp's "Skins" directory (located at C:\Program Files\Winamp\Skins by the default setup). Once the file is finished downloading, you can run Winamp and choose the new skin from Winamp's Skins menu. Although both .wsz and .wal are essentially just .zip files, you do not need to unzip them to use them; also, if your browser doesn't recognize these file types and saves them as .zip instead, this seems to work fine as well.

Downloading for Linux

The skins can also be used with the Linux media player, XMMS. To do so, download the skin and unzip it to the directory /usr/share/xmms/Skins/<skin name>. This info thanks to DragonTrainer!

About Image Sources

Listed with each skin is the site where the image in the skin came from. If there is no source listed, it means I can't remember, or don't know the original source. If you recognize one of these and know where it came from, email me and I'll credit it. If you're the owner of a source image and you have a problem with my usage, please do contact me about it. If I used your fan art, I apologize - I don't intentionally use fan art, but sometimes it's difficult to tell the difference with particularly good fan images that have been proliferated throughout the net without their author's name attached.

Redistribution Policy

If you want to take some of my skins and distribute them on your site, that's fine as long as you upload them to your own web space (i.e., don't direct-link them from this site), credit me and provide a link back to my site. You may also use my screenshots of them for preview images (but still, don't direct-link them), or make your own.
